Below is all the essential information you need about Marshies—what they are, how to get one, and how you can dive right in.
what are Marshies?
We are a collectibles group and an ARPG (Art Roleplaying Game). But what does that mean exactly?
Collectibles Group = A collectible species consists of character designs with distinct, shared traits and connected lore. Both moderators and members can create these designs, which collectors can own, develop, and customize. Collectors can show off their characters in artwork, participate in major long-term story events created by the moderators, and join fun games and roleplay adventures within the species' world!
Narrative ARPG (Art Role-Playing Game) = The species revolves around a character-driven, ongoing story that the community collectively expresses artistically. By creating artwork, writing, or engaging in conversations with other members, you contribute to the evolving lore. The species provides immersive games to use your character in that reward you for completing them. It encourages you to connect with our community and make each character you collect more meaningful.
When you obtain a Marshie, you gain access to an array of exciting events and rewards, including monthly challenges, art prompts, games, and engaging long-form interactive stories, all hosted by our community. But if you don’t have a Marshie yet, don’t worry! Our delightful mascot, Orange Cream, along with many generous members, would be thrilled to receive a labor of love featuring their characters. Everyone is welcome to join the fun! But we'll go into more detail about how you can obtain your very own Marshie later!
But what are Marshies, the characters?
Marshies are customizable creatures that a partially made of Hot Chocolate! Using a variety of toppings such as different colors and shapes of Marshmallows and Hot Chocolate, there are many ways to make unique and distinct Marshies to fit your personal preferences! Marshies come in both feral and anthro forms, so all types of furry artists are welcome to make and design their own to their hearts content!
Each Marshie requires these base features:
☕ At least half of the body is made of Hot Cocoa
☕ Marshmallows in the Cocoa
☕ Cocoa in the ears
Anything beyond the basic forms is obtained through traits—a comprehensive list of elements that can enhance a Marshie's design, each with its own category and rarity. With the wide variety of traits available, you can customize your Marshie to be almost anything you imagine!
sounds fun! But how do I get a Marshie?
Marshies are free to make yourself with limited trait rarities. At anytime, you can go to this page in order to claim a free Uncommon Make Your Own (MYO) Slot! There is also a Free First Time Owner (FTO) Rare MYO Slot available from the Cocoa Shop! If you would like to use higher rarity traits, you'll need to obtain Trait Upgrades from events or the Cocoa Shop!
If you would prefer to obtain an existing Marshie instead, we have a large masterlist of official Marshies, which may occasionally be available for trade or sale—these opportunities are usually advertised in our Discord server! You can collect as many official Marshies as you like, along with items to enhance them, by buying, trading, or earning them from the website, moderators, or fellow community members
Buying: MYO slots, items, and premade designs created by moderators or guest artists are available for purchase in USD at least once a month, so make sure to keep an eye on the Sales page to see if any of the adopts advertised there catch your eye! Marshie owners can also sell their designs on our Discord server or on Toyhou.se. You can also purchase Donated Designs using the species currency, Cocoa Coins, here!
Trading: Community members may often trade their official Marshies and items. This could be anything from other official designs, MYO slots, misc. characters, art, or even physical items. While some official Marshies may have no monetary value and can't be sold, all official Marshies can be traded.
Earning: Engaging in the following activities can earn you official designs, MYO slots, Cocoa Coins, and items—potentially including exclusive items not available through any other method!
