May 2026 Monthly Newsletter
Posted 3 weeks ago :: Last edited 3 weeks ago by CookieCloudssHello customers, sorry we're late, but here's your monthly announcement to summarize some things going on around the community!
monthly prompt
We have two new Monthly Prompts up for the month of May! You can find our art and writing prompt here, and our designing prompt here!
raffles
Congratulations to TheCacophonyCollective for winning last month's Donated Design Raffle, who has been given an Adoption Center Voucher instead! For anyone who forgot to use any Raffle Ticket that they got in the daily loot, you can still use them to join this month's raffle and have a chance at winning one of the designs out of the Adoption Center!
Speaking of the Donated Design Raffles, we have decided to instead hand out the new Adoption Center Vouchers introduced last month. This just ensures that giveaway winners get their prizes sooner and can claim their prize at any time once they have received the item.
Adoption Center Changes
If you haven't been keeping up with announcements in the Discord Server, I have made a few changes to the Adoption Center that you should all be aware of. The first minor change is the fact that we will start discounting designs that stay "stuck" in the Adoption Center every year. So once a design has been in the Adoption Center for a full year, we will discount their cost by 50%, and will continue to do so until we feel like we should either just give them away for free or redesign them.
We have also made some changes to the rewards for donating designs to the Adoption Center to avoid letting people abuse the high rewards to get Cocoa Coins. While reward rates have been reduced, we have also added two cases in which the amount of CC you get might be even further reduced. Designs that are donated on a base will reward you with fewer Cocoa Coins, as well as any design that we deem to be low effort and just an excuse to get Cocoa Coins. You can find the new rates detailed in the Donate Designs prompt.
In addition, we have also increased the Cocoa Coin rate for drawing art of Marshies to better compete with the Adoption Center, and those new rates are also listed on the Cocoa Bank prompt.
Event Managers
Many of the changes listed above came about due to increased interest in the species and a community-led revival effort. Because of this and my lack of motivation for hosting events, I thought it was fair to open applications to let some of the community join the staff team to help brainstorm and host events for the species. Please welcome AnxiouslyandInk, quiet, and TheCacophonyCollective as our new Event Managers!
New Traits
I recently brought up two of my older species concepts on the Discord Server, and I've been working with someone to maybe try to revive one of them. During one of the conversations we had about revamping the trait sheet, one of the members suggested some traits that I thought would work well in Marshies as well, so I have added Patchwork as an Ultra Rare Trait and Multiple Heads (originally categorized under Additional Limbs) as a Mythical Trait. If you own a Marshie that you believe should have one of these traits, please submit a report or open a ticket so we can update their traits! You will not be required to use any Trait Upgrades to get these fixes!
fundraiser reminder
I'll probably add this reminder at the bottom of every newsletter throughout the month, but here's a reminder that we have a year-long fundraiser going on right now for the Trevor Project! You can find more info here if you're interested in contributing!
